Orla Kiely has created her own world that is renowned for its individual style and unique perspective on both fashion and homeware. Famous for her bold use of colour and pattern, Orla Kiely’s designs are coveted across the globe and have won her a legion of fans, including the Duchess of Cambridge. Known as ‘The Queen of Prints’, her iconic motifs have appeared on stationery, kitchenware and even cars.
“When I was planning the new furniture range, I knew that I wanted to work exclusively with a retail partner that shares my values. As an independent family owned business, Barker and Stonehouse has a distinctive approach to retail and has made for a great collaborator on this launch.
It’s a company that cares about the details and provenance of design. And a place that offers visual excitement to its customers through the layering together of colour, texture and styles within its stores. All of this chimes well with me.”
For this first ever Orla Kiely furniture range, the design team meticulously explored Orla’s extensive pattern archive, hand-selecting a striking array of prints that would form the base of the collection.
Channelling the signature mid-century aesthetic synonymous with Orla Kiely, the furniture offers solutions for both bedrooms and living spaces alike thanks to a versatile range of cocktail chairs, sofas, footstools and even a bedframe, all upholstered in Orla’s signature patterns and iconic retro palette.
