We are expanding our team and we require customer focused administrators who can be part of our highly effective department to deliver customer service resolutions, arrange customer product deliveries, whilst handling a range of customer enquiries.
These exciting opportunities offer challenging and rewarding roles whilst providing a varied working environment.
The successful administrators will have the opportunity to test their communication, organisational and resolution management skills to the full, all of which will be vital to success of the Aftersales Department.

DRIVERS – Class 2 – 18T (Baker Furniture)

A great opportunity has arisen to join a fast-paced furniture wholesale business in the Middlesbrough area. Baker Furniture, part of the Barker and Stonehouse Group, offers design led commercial cabinet furniture to over 300 customers within the UK and Europe including some of the country’s premium national retailers.
Baker Furniture is recruiting enthusiastic and flexible Class 2 Drivers to join their team.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Daily Route Planning and control of delivery documentation
  • Liaise with customers, stores and warehouses as required
  • Working as part of a team to move and store furniture, in and out of the warehouse
  • Delivering furniture to our customers, stores and warehouses
  • Assembly within the customer’s homes
  • Collection of returns and recycled furniture
  • Unloading and loading vehicles securely and correctly
  • Manual lifting
  • Correct and safe use of lifting and handling equipment to move furniture
  • Vehicle Safety and basic maintenance
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
  • Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations
  • Other reasonable duties within the job holder’s capabilities

This role will involve heavy lifting, nights out and overtime.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience of multi drop deliveries. Experience with the furniture industry would be advantageous although not essential.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Customer Experience Team Member –Part Time

Knaresborough Store

At Barker and Stonehouse we aim to be a destination of choice for inspiring furniture solutions and
unrivalled customer service. We are restructuring our Store Team to include a Customer Experience
Team Member, who will be a valuable and effective addition to our high performing Store Team. The
position will be based in our Knaresborough Store. The Customer Experience Team Member will be a
key member of the team who will enhance the customer experience when visiting our store.


Are you a ‘people person’, do you possess excellent communication skills, can you work in a fast-paced
environment and make quality common sense decisions and are you good at putting the customer
first? Are you a great organiser, can you manage customer expectation, demonstrate professional
telephone answering skills, take pride in your workplace and always deliver on your promises?

SALESPERSON

Knaresborough Store

Barker and Stonehouse is a family run company business founded in 1946 with great products and superb
presentation. Everything about our employees shines, from vibrant personalities, loyalty and commitment to
offering the very best in customer service.


We are looking to recruit a dynamic, commercially minded, enthusiastic and flexible Salesperson for our
Knaresborough Store. Exposure to a furniture retail background would be advantageous, however, not essential.
You must be willing to work Monday to Sunday (5 days per week).


Duties include :

Selling quality furniture and other household products to our customers

Providing a first class level of customer service

Greeting and liaising with customers

Negotiating prices

Having an in-depth product knowledge

Processing orders and agreeing delivery arrangements

Obtaining and inputting information via computer systems

Checking stock levels


Suitable candidates should :

Be computer literate and good with figures

Have a flexible approach regarding work and working hours

Have the ability to work well as a member of a team and to work using your own initiative

Have a smart appearance and be well organised with a pleasant manner

Be comfortable dealing with customers face to face and via telephone
