We’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of spring here at Barker and Stonehouse. This time of year is the perfect opportunity to refresh and rejuvenate your home with a brand new look for 2017.
Each season, our Creative Manager pulls together the latest interior trends from around the world along with our favourite furniture picks for the year, and creates five key looks for the home.
You’ll see these looks appearing in our showroom and in our new spring brochure soon, but while you wait, here’s a sneak peek at the inspiration and moodboards behind each spring/summer style.

Relaxed country style has been given a green-fingered makeover for 2017. The botanical look is one of the biggest interior trends of the year and we think its perfect for spring.
To get this country-garden inspired look, create a calming backdrop with white-washed woods, painted finishes and traditional stripes. Accessorise with soft fabrics and lots of greenery, from vases full of wild flowers to framed botanical prints.
|Greenwich Table||New York Print||Galveston Chair||Copper Lamp|
For contemporary homes, the industrial look is still going strong for spring 2017. This season, we’re feeling inspired by cool city lofts and airy Brooklyn apartments. Think worn, reclaimed woods and raw metal finishes for a tactile feel.
Keep the look homely by introducing warm tan leathers and touches of copper throughout the room. Signage and lettering will add a stylish edge to walls.
|Juni Sofa||Geometric Pendant||Blue Vase||Lund Sideboard|
Blue is one of our favourite hues of the year. This look combines sleek Scandi style with deep navy and sapphire to create a striking appeal that’s quirky yet cosy.
Make a style statement in your home with retro-inspired sofas and geometric patterns. Mix shades of blue for a contemporary look and add contrast with splashes of tan and copper.
|Melia Chair||Circles Mirror||Axan Coffee Table||Alpha Lamp|
Our next look proves that metallics shouldn’t be reserved for winter. Bring some serious shimmer into your home this spring with luxe fabrics and lustruous surfaces.
This metallic moodboard was inspired by chic city townhouse interiors, mixing matt grey and neutral shades with elegant touches of silver and gold for a modern appeal.
|Bronx Sideboard||Ibiza Rug||Cavendish Armchair||Baoli Throw|
Our final source of inspiration will add a well-travelled look to your home. This trend tells a story, bringing together worn fabrics and leathers with a mix of exotic prints and patterns. An ideal look for a family home.
Search for one-of-a-kind reclaimed pieces and combine with unique accessories that look like they’ve been collected over time.
