Home Delivery Crews Wanted – 7.5t

Barker and Stonehouse is a family run furniture retail company founded in 1946 with great products and superb presentation. We have established Stores recently in Guildford, Battersea and Hove and throughout Tyneside, Teesside, Yorkshire, Humberside & Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to join Barker and Stonehouse at a very exciting time. We continue to expand successfully, despite the past economical downturn and look forward to a bright future.

Due to recent store openings in the South of the country, we have a number of exciting opportunities working in our newest Distribution Centre at Crawley.

The role:

Our products are the best, our customers are demanding and our service level is one of our top priorities. We therefore need people that can match our service to our brand. The role involves delivering high end furniture, direct to customers homes. It involves driving, delivering, lifting and carrying, liasing with the warehouse and our care centre, and being the face of the company. It is a demanding role, however is very rewarding. We constantly get great feedback from our customers about how professional and effective our drivers are and we are proud of that.

Typical duties would include:

About you

You will be self-motivated, hardworking and ideally have previous experience of multi drop deliveries. You will have the ability to work well as part of a 2 person team and have a flexible approach to working hours. You will be of smart appearance with a pleasant manner and excellent communication skills. Experience within the furniture industry would be advantageous. You must be physically fit as the role will involve some heavy lifting.

Our vehicles are 7.5t home delivery vehicles so having the appropriate licence is absolutely necessary. However, we would be interested in hearing from you if you are considering a career in Logistics as we have opportunities to help you get your licence.

Applicants must hold a Class C1/ C licence, digital tachograph card and be CPC qualified.

Sales Manager – Furniture Retail Store Leeds

Barker and Stonehouse is a family run furniture retail company founded in 1946 with great products and superb presentation. The ideal candidate will report to the Store Manager providing assistance and support in the following areas:

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, pro-active Retail Store Sales Manager with previous exposure to working in a retail environment. A proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets is required.

Sales Person – Knaresborough

We are looking to recruit dynamic, commercially minded, enthusiastic and flexible Sales People for our Knaresborough Store. The ideal candidates should be results driven, experienced in one to one sales, passionate about interiors and furnishings and must be able to use own initiative to follow up on enquiries and leads. Exposure to a furniture retail background would be an advantage. Must be willing to work - Monday to Sunday 5 days per week, including some late evenings.
