The power and imagination of artist Jessica Zoob’s works has brought her worldwide acclaim – it’s said her paintings sit equally happily in simple contemporary interiors and in lavishly opulent ones.
So there’s a gorgeous logic to the transition of Jessica’s extraordinary domains of colour and texture to fabric.
We’re delighted to have collaborated with this incredibly talented artist to introduce the new Breathe Velvet Wild Flower chair, available at our Battersea store.
Derived from Jessica’s ‘Desire’ painting collection, the chair features bright, scattered brushmarks printed on velvet, and is not only visually stunning, but also practical.
Educated at Nottingham University, Jessica has become one of the UK’s leading contemporary artists, exhibiting regularly in London and working in both oils and acrylics.
She says the environment has always inspired her – she loves untamed, craggy rocks, bleak moors and the traces of human history that can be seen in faded paint.
“I may be inspired by a storm, a mountain, or a love affair – or possibly all three,” she says.
We’re wonderfully inspired by her textiles, which capture the essence of her abstract brilliance. Our Breathe Velvet Wild Flower Chair is a fabulous statement in any room, a real talking point for guests and something genuinely different.
Jessica’s works have described as having the poetic quality of the late works of Claude Monet and the textural power of Gerhard Richter’s abstract paintings.
Apply that talent to a chair, and you get something very special indeed – a work of art and a pragmatic piece of furniture at the same time. How cool is that?
