YOUNG budding football stars have been given a morale boost thanks to sponsorship from a local furniture retailer.
Players in the Clifton Rangers YFC under 12 team, based in West Yorkshire, are now training in a stylish new strip and have been able to buy essential sporting equipment thanks to a donation from Barker and Stonehouse.
The company’s Hull store manager, Dean Hird, is the father of 11-year-old captain Bradley Hird and says the contribution has made a huge difference to the team.
Dean said: “With such a cold winter and slow start to spring the club needed to raise money for much needed equipment and coats to keep the boys warm on the route to every match and on the sidelines if they are substitutes.
“The team are extremely grateful for Barker and Stonehouse’s donation and the new gear has helped lift their confidence, which is evident in the way they have been playing this season.”
Barker and Stonehouse managing director James Barker said: “Youth sports clubs are a key organisation in every community so we are delighted to sponsor the Clifton Rangers, while having the opportunity to support our staff and their family members.”
