Barker and Stonehouse have challenged the UK’s best interior bloggers to style their own rooms using winter and Christmas-inspired trends, as part of The Blogger House series.

We will be bringing you new looks over the next month from our talented bloggers, so keep updated by following the hashtag #TheBloggerHouse

Today’s look, from Rachel of the ordinary lovely blog, is all about adding a little personality to an uninspired and generic-looking home office.

Drawing elements and inspiration from the Nordic winter trend, Rachel has transformed her old office into one that bursts with colour, character and comfort.

“The next item that I selected was this wooden tree-shaped coat stand. I think it’s safe to say that it’s gone down an absolute storm with the boys. A tree?! In the house?! Wow! It’s taken the place of some random storage boxes that I’ve managed to find another home for and it’s just so nice to have in the room.”

Combining practicality with style, this tree-shaped coat stand can double as a decoration holder, for any occasion.

“I’ve hung a wreath and Christmas stockings from it but as I type, it’s now home to a superman costume and some sparkly bracelets, too. At £46, I could be persuaded to buy a second one, though. I think you could dress it for any season … it’s part storage, part ornament, and all round amazing.”

A versatile accessory like this is an effective way to both tidy and brighten up a room.

Rachel also used our lovely Cornbury Candle Holder and Knitted Pouffe to help create a comforting and homely atmosphere in her new work space.
