Christmas is literally weeks away, and if you’re anything like us, you’re starting to prepare your home for the festive season. Whether that means putting your Christmas tree up, decorating your windows with glowing stars and LED icicles, or de-cluttering the spare room which has been gathering dust for the last 11 months to make room for guests.
However you may be starting to prepare, don’t let it ruin your festive spirit, Christmas is all about having fun and spending time with friends and loved ones after all.
We thought we would give you a helping hand in getting prepared if you are entertaining guests this Christmas. It might seem like a daunting task, but with the right preperation, you and your guests will have a stress free and magical Christmas.
Make some room
If you have a wardrobe in your spare room, then it is a good idea to clear some of the clutter and make room in order for your guests to be able to hang a few things. Your guests may not be staying for a long time, but with it being Christmas, they may have some nice glam party outfits which they don’t want creasing in their bags.
Dress the bed
If you can, invest in some lovely new festive sheets to give your spare room that festive cheer. If that’s out of your budget, then make sure you wash and iron fresh bedding before your guests arrive. Plump up the pillows and add some warmth with the texture of a throw. Why not place a little chocolate on the pillow too?
Before your guests arrive, light a few scented candles and turn on the bedside lamp. It will create a cosy, warm atmosphere which your guests will feel right at home in.
Place neatly folded towels at the foot of the bed, it’s also a nice idea to purchase travel sized shampoo, conditioner and shower gel to give your guests the ultimate pamper. And why not be the perfect host and provide your quests with slippers, a dressing gown and a good book too?
