Of course, no visit would be complete without a trip to the beach. Brighton beach is a hive of activity and home to the famous Brighton Palace Pier; the historic Victorian Pier is great fun, with fairground attractions, arcades and fish and chips.
Seafood is a stellar choice when eating out in Brighton and Hove, and the seaside city has an array of great fish restaurants. You’ll find everything from traditional fish and chips at Palm Court Restaurant on Brighton Pier, to a gourmet tasting menu at Hove’s The Little Fish Market, owned by chef Duncan Ray.

Alternatively, discover the laidback lunch spots of Hove, such as Treacle & Co, one of the best-loved cafes in the town for delicious bakes.

While Barker and Stonehouse were born in the North East, we’re proud to bring our inspirational furniture shopping experience to the South of England, first with our London Battersea store in 2013 and now with our new Brighton & Hove store.
The state-of-the-art new showroom will be located on Old Shoreham Road, just a short walk from the town centre. Spread over two floors, you’ll find fabulous furniture and accessories alongside stylish room sets and the latest home trends.
To celebrate our new location, we’ve put together a guide to Brighton & Hove, including some of the best things to see and do in the area.
Things to See & Do
From iconic tourist attractions to beautiful beaches, there’s plenty to do in Brighton & Hove.
One of the most famous buildings in Brighton is the Royal Pavilion. Once a royal residence, this spectacular seaside palace has become an icon and is a must-see when you're in the area.
Culture lovers have an array of great art galleries and museums to choose from. Hove Museum & Art Gallery houses a collection of crafts, toys, cinema, local history, and fine art. Located just a five minute walk from the beach, entry is free. You can also browse an eclectic collection of artifacts at Brighton Museum.

For a more peaceful seaside experience, head to Hove seafront with its lawns and colourful beach huts.

The most famous shopping destination in Brighton has to be The Lanes. The historic quarter is full of character and a shopper’s paradise, with an assortment of offbeat independent stores, vintage shops and antique jewellery sellers. Find fashion gems in Rose Hill Boutique and quirky interior inspiration in Papillon.

While Brighton is often considered the best place for shopaholics, Hove is fast becoming a rival to its trendy neighbour. Discover a host of cool new fashion and interior boutiques popping up here, such as Bobby & Dandy, a treasure trove of vintage finds.
