Cosy Country Chic is a wonderful interior trend for winter months, as the cold weather encourages you to stay home and create a welcoming and comforting environment that is perfect for snuggling!

The most important element of a cosy country living room is the seating – a large squishy sofa laden with blankets and cushions, plus a few additional high backed armchairs for any extra guests.

For me, country chic demands a neutral base colour scheme, which can be easily layered upon with warm, muted colour tones and I love the refined elegance of the Josephina Sofa in Wheatgrass Senna – it’s the perfect sofa to curl up in on a long, cold winter’s night!

It would work wonderfully paired with the country floral chic of the high backed Ercol Evergreen Loveseat, a neutral rug such as the heavyweight wool pile Speckle in Sand, Charlbury Nest of Oak Tables to keep mugs of hot coffee close to hand, and a Grey Kubu Round Log Basket next to the fireplace.

Country Chic - Layer Up - Post by Katie Baxter

Layering is the key to creating a cosy feel in a country-chic inspired living room, with soft tactile blankets casually thrown over sofas and a scattering of floral and wildlife designed cushions in varying textures.

Heritage patterns such as tartan and tweed are great for adding depth to the country scheme – I love the Skye Check Throw in Sage accessorised with the watercolour designs of the Mr. Pheasant Linen & Velvet cushion and Mr. Stag Gregor Linen cushion for a sophisticated artful take on the trend.
