We’re thrilled to unveil local resident to our Battersea London store, Sarah Freeman from Clapham, as the winner of our stunning Cavendish Chair, worth £759! We donated this stylish vintage cigar leather seat with Kilim fabric as a charity raffle prize for our store’s recent Christmas event held in support of the Thomas’s Schools Foundation.
Yearly organised by its charity partner and candle makers Charles Farris (charlesfarris.co.uk), this fun and festive event saw our store’s dedicated candle shop display their ongoing patronage by generously donating a percentage of all product sales to raise a total of £480. Run by volunteers and 100% reliant on donations, the Thomas’s Schools Foundation (tsfoundation.org.uk) provides educational and extracurricular opportunities for children in Battersea, Clapham, Fulham and Kensington.
Offering a wealth of seasonal treats from candles and decorations to gorgeous gifts, our historical Battersea building was dressed to impress and filled with hymns from local choir, The Treblemakers. A fabulous wreath-making demonstration also took place, inspiring our shoppers to get creative. Little ones were given the chance to fill their baskets with traditional toys before enjoying a special visit from a jolly Father Christmas!
The Thomas’s Schools Foundation comments: “It’s always fabulous to hold a local event at Barker and Stonehouse and Farris always do a great job at organising lots of festive surprises! We would like to thank both brands for their ongoing support and generous donations.”
