B&S ‘SUPERMODELS’ TURN OUT IN FORCE

Oh yes! Our call to action didn’t go unheeded as heaps of wannabe models hoping to be the face of Barker and Stonehouse’s new designer furniture store on Giltbrook Retail Park turned out in force for the auditions at Nottingham Arena.

Crowds of locals from across Nottingham and of all ages, shapes and sizes turned up to the auditions hopeful that they would be chosen to represent the area. We all had a great day with our top photographer making all those who turned up feel perfectly at ease and taking some fantastic shots of all you gorgeous folk.

Daniel Mottishaw, from Edwinstowe, said he wanted to be the face of Nottingham for Barker and Stonehouse because he loved everything about the city – good shopping, good night’s out and good music and because he wanted to represent a good quality furniture store.

Two and a half year old Lilly Cramman, also from Edwinstowe, came along with dad Tom and grandma Lesley. Her reason to be the face of Barker and Stonehouse was quite simple – because she was “giggly”!

Jessica Read, from Underwood, said she was perfect for the job because she loved the area and was “born and bred here”. Family hopefuls Susan and David Allan and son Christopher Topham from Long Eaton also said they’d be perfect for the job because they were born and bred here and said “why not?” when asked why they should be the face of Barker and Stonehouse.

Amy Davies, a bricklayer from Kimberley, said she wanted to be the face of Nottingham because she was helping to build the new city – so it made perfect sense for her to be the face of the company who wants to furnish the city!

Mark Stelmach and Jemima Simpson, who live together in the city centre, wanted to represent the city because they are both born and bred Nottingham and are tremendously proud to be from Nottingham. Russell Harrison, from Bestwood Village, was equally proud to be from Nottingham but also thought he was perfect to represent Barker and Stonehouse because “he loves comfy furniture!”

Barker and Stonehouse md James Barker said: “The response has been fantastic, and we were overwhelmed by the level of pride and enthusiasm that local people hold for the city – there’s no doubt that Nottingham has a lot to be proud of.

“We’re now looking forward to seeing the final photographs and selecting the winners – Colin&Justin are going to be bowled over by the amount of gorgeous folk in Nottingham.”

TV favourites Colin&Justin will announce the winners at the VIP store opening at the Giltbrook Retail Park on Saturday October 11th and winners will be featured in Barker and Stonehouse promotional materials.
