Conventional bed-making is a production line process. Mass manufacturing of identical beds is the order of the day. But Vi-Spring is not a conventional bed-maker. At Vi-Spring, every bed they make is made individually to order, because a customer has asked them to. And of course, the only way they can make such a bed is entirely by hand.

Every Vi-Spring bed is, in essence, an original, designed and built around the way you sleep. The spring count, the fillings, the upholstery, the stitching: each vital component of your Vi-Spring bed is as you demand it. Which is, in the end, the only way to make the perfect bed for you.

Each stage of the assembly process is a craftsman's task. Honeycomb nesting of the calico-pocketed springs ensure there are no gaps between springs which might create a less-than-flawless sleep surface.

The copious volumes of fine cotton, lambswool and long-stranded horsehair are coaxed, pulled and ultimately heaved into place in a way that only a craftman's eyes and hands can achieve.
Side-stitching by hand is a skill that takes craftsmen years to master It gives each mattress an exquisite, tailored finish; but far more importantly, it gives supportive strength to the mattress edges that lesser beds need a rigid metal rod to achieve. Hand stitching a single Vi-Spring mattress can take up to eight hours alone.

Man-made materials are used everywhere these days, and the insides of beds are no exception. Using exclusively natural materials is less easy. But when you are as uncompromising as Vi-Spring are, its entirely worthwhile.

Synthetic materials simply do not breathe as cotton, lambswool and calico do. And since a good eight hours of every day are spent lying on the mattress, we believe that it has to breathe as effectively as only natural materials can.

While some synthetic beds can make you uncomfortably hot, a natural Vi-Spring bed can keep you cool in July and cosily snug in january. It's why, unlike every other bed-maker in the world, Vi-Spring choose to make beds this way.
